GAYLE KABAKER is a freelance illustrator. After graduating from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, she began freelancing and have never stopped! Kayaker now resides in Western Massachusetts with husband Artist Peter Kitchell.
Kabaker has illustrated for various markets worldwide for over 35 years. Her first New Yorker magazine cover ‘June Brides’ celebrated gay marriage in 2012 and she’s created a total of five covers for the renowned magazine since then. Kabaker describes her work as feminine and aims to explore beauty in all forms. Her process is a combination of old school painting (mostly with Acryla Gouache) which is scanned, and finished in Photoshop. More recently, Kabaker has ventured into the “fine art” world, selling paintings and drawings individually.
