Birney Imes, photographer of the successful monograph Juke Joint, has photographed the people and the land of his native Mississippi for almost twenty years. A selection of these photographs are collected for the first time as part of the Photographers at Work Series in Partial to Home. Imes returns over and over to the same places and people. "Local people, river baptisms, black baseball teams, backyards, and front porches-the images reflect his personal vision and interest but also document what and who make up life in his Southern home."
